Homer's son

Digital, famous,

you’re not real, Bart Simpson,

but still we love you.

  1. I love this. Seems silly, but feels sublime.

  2. The very real attachment to fictional characters. Victorian England was united in their protests after Arthur Conan Doyle killed of Sherlock Holmes, so much so that he had to bring him back from the Reichenbach Falls.

  3. I'm not real either. How do I lock down that "loved" thing?

  5. yes... reminds me of how we want to hold -- literally in our arms -- at times, people that we can't have. Like Kate Winslet in The Reader. She might as well have been digital... I'll never be able to tell her how she made me feel.
